JetHomeloans experience
I decided to go with JetHomeloans, the preferred lender for DreamFinders after careful consideration. The experience was good up until the very end. They pay 100% of your closing costs which saved us $18,000. Where things went wrong was communication at the end near closing. Underwriters were asking for information at the very end that should have been handled much earlier in the process and closing was rescheduled 3 times- once because of a delay on the builders part, twice because the lenders were not ready. We had to reschedule furniture delivery and internet installs and endure extra stays at a hotel as we were homeless as we waited to close. The loan officer showed zero empathy for what we were going through and seemed unconcerned for our situation. Communication between the lender and title company was pretty much non-existent and we had to act as the go-between with these two parties just trying to get the closing paperwork over to the title company so we could close. We eventually closed 8 days after our original closing date and only a day late due to the lender not getting the paperwork to the title company on time.
James's Tip: Expect smooth sailing until you approach closing, then be prepared for a barrage of last minute ASAP requests from the lender and a lack of communication and possible delays at or near closing.
