Kind Review
I have used FBC twice before for the purchase of new homes. The experience, service, timeliness and people I worked with was an 11 out of 10 and I would recommend FBC and Matt Andre’s team to any one. This experience to refinance my current house was a 1 out of 10. It started out fine but went downhill from there. The loan was supposed to close on September 1 but did not and we did not close until September 15. I inquired with Stephanie several times to make sure we were on track with the close and was always assured that everything was on track. Even as late as September 29. I was told to stop paying on my mortgage because everything was good to go. On September 1, I was told an appraisal had not been ordered and needed to be done. Closing would most like be a couple weeks out, sometime around September 11. I asked Stephanie what else was needed including survey, insurance and the process because now I was very unsure how we were going to close in Covid 19 times. Stephanie said they had everything and was sorry about the appraisal. She did explain that closing could be handled at my house. A day or so later I was told I needed a survey. I notified Stephanie and she said the title company needed this. The appraiser and surveyor came out on September 3 and they were completed on September 8. I was still told we would close September 11. September 11 came and went and we were then told we would close on September 14. This did not happen because we were not cleared to close until very late afternoon and I was not going to close in that rushed atmosphere. We finally closed on September 15. This entire process was a comedy of errors and left me very dissatisfied with FBC.

My husband and I applied for a VA loan through FBC Mortgage. We found a new home thru Adam's Homes in North Port, FL. FBC is one of their preferred lenders. The process was made smooth for us. We started out with Victor Arreola, the Loan Originator. Victor was great throughout the loan process. He was very knowledgeable and treated us with the utmost respect at all times. We were nervous about the whole process at first, but Victor literally walked us through everything step by step. The Processor, Lisa S., the Loan Officer, Matthew D. and Brad C. at Closing, we're all wonderful! We are so happy with our new home and the service we received from FBC.

Closing numbers
Had to pay more that discussed last minute, on top of that had to buy down the interest that was already locked because of an internal miscalculation. I paid it to get it over since we were told on the same closing date. That was the only hiccup with FBC. Website was user friendly.
Margarita's Tip: Ask a lot of questions. Make sure the numbers add up and do research on your own.

Down to the wire!
Due to delays in the underwriting process, our closing literally came down to getting loan approval hours before the scheduled time. Thankfully, Joanne was on top of things and monitoring the situation that day...and several days beforehand. It was a very stressful situation, but Joanne was reassuring and calm during the whole process.
James's Tip: Please make sure ALL the paperwork required has been requested by underwriting WELL before the scheduled closing date.
