HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH JET HOMELOANS. If I could rate this zero star I would. Very unorganized and unprofessional. Difficult to get a response from anyone. I called and email people multiple time within 2 weeks and no one reach back to me. I was prepared months ago to provide the documents needed, but they requested for more and more documents at the very last minute. I have to provide the same documents and information multiple time due to their lack of communication. We almost did not close on the scheduled morning because our package were not done and available for the title company. MAJOR STRESS! STAY AWAY!!! Dream Homes Finders need a new lender!!!!!

Okay - could have been better.
We would probably have chosen a different provider but the builder incentives were too good to pass up. That being said, the issues with the Jet Loans was a combination of a merger which impacted their systems and the volume of business they were handling drove some inconsistent and poor communication. It did take a little time for both Gerry and Kristal to realize we were experienced enough so that we didn't need to be treated as first-timers without any understanding of the process.

Unprofessional
When we communicated with Mr. Rick Brown or lack of communication he seemed to be talking down to me asking me questions that we’re not pertaining to the loan process. It made me very uncomfortable so I had my husband to do the talking with him. The day of closing was so chaotic and unprepared. We signed the paperwork prior and did the wire transfer as required. The lady from the title people called Jet Home Loan and that Rick Brown should be calling us after waiting two hours after the closing he calls when we agreed had the key. I felt that if we were a Caucasian family things worked have been handled differently. I say that because another family that we referred had similar issues. I would not recommend Jet Home Loan to anyone else.

Although they do replay to calls and emails rather quickly. At closing they were very disorganized and seemed to have an arrogant attitude to go along with it. Overall not a good experience.

Lengthy and tedious
Having entitled the process as "lengthy and tedious", we have to say that Marissa Kuehn was very helpful, patient, and informative during a very stressful time. One thing that did muddle things a bit was when forms which had already been submitted were requested again (for no reason other than they weren't easily found in your system, one might assume) and slowed down the process somewhat. We very much appreciate Marissa's guidance.

Be Aware
I decided to use Jet Mortgage for my new build to take advantage of the closing cost credit. Jet is also owned by my builder (Dream Finders) so I ASSUMED the communication between the two departments would be great. The day before my scheduled closing I got a call from the loan officer stating that I would not be able to close because my loan had not reached final approval at the terms originally agreed upon. Long story short Jet used a 3mo old credit report and NEVER LET ME KNOW THERE WAS ANY ISSUE WITH MY LOAN. Since this was the day before closing I had utilities in the home on in my name and ended my lease on my temp apartment. I had to go back to my home state of KY for a month to live with my friend while they corrected their mistake. Luckily I could work remotely. Looking back on the entire incident, conversations I've had with people in real estate as well as things that were said to me by employees of Dream Finders it is my belief that the bungling of my loan and keeping me in the dark on it was an attempt to cancel my contract on the house and put it on the market for a much higher price. I was prepared to sue if that would have happened. Even after all their mistakes I had to write the CEO, COO, Director of Sales and Executive assistant with a timeline of what happened and let them know I had emails and text to back up everything I was saying before I could get semi daily updates on the status of my loan.
Akmal's Tip: Don't take for granted that they are there to help you. They are there to make money and selling the house for top dollar likely takes priority over who they are selling it to.

Just “ok” service
Overall communication was ok. The person they assigned to gather information asked me for the same things multiple times and wasn’t always super responsive. No one ever gave me the appraisal information until they asked me to sign a form stating I was given it and I then had to ask for it. They also sold my loan before I even closed on the house and I have no information where to pay my mortgage now. Not the best lender, I wouldn’t work with them again if given the choice.

George and his team are amazing to work with. They are very friendly and extremely helpful with gathering documents. They agreed to a tight timeline for closing, and later really showed their awesomeness by making extremely fast changes a couple days before closing when our contingent home sale fell through. I would only recommend using George/Jet home loans. It was a great experience.

Dropped the ball
Great experience up until it was time to lock in the interest rate. Was supposed to have been done on Friday bfo 3 day w/end (Presidents Day) - did not hear anything until the next Tuesday when I was informed "rates had gone crazy" and the "rate desk" had closed virtually in panic. Received a message a couple of hours later that 3.375 was available - that I should take it because rates could do anything. My discount with no points was around $1K but before that could be locked in dropped to $300+/-. My rate should have been locked in on the Friday prior at the 2.99% used on the loan estimate sheet - the rest of the experience felt like a "hard sell" right before you close your loan. I rarely complain but this was very unsatisfactory to me. I will stick with my own lender next time.
Christopher's Tip: Be wary of having extended closing costs covered vs what your final rate will be that would be offset during a long term (30 year) mortgage.
