First Time Home Buyer
They were very nice and responsive up to closing. However during closing we had several urgent questions and all contacts were unreachable (still have not responded and we are 2 days post closing). They did not explain key items within certain financial documents that gave us several stressful days leading up to closing.

The experience just was not great. We sent all of our documentation that was asked for immediately with 24-48hrs after requested, the week of closing they started asking for things in a specific way instead of what we had sent weeks/months prior. Ed gave us the same ick as a car salesman you can tell is just not genuine. They didn’t have competitive interest rates. The one thing that was great was the “float down” but they even tried to bs us on that, and we caught it and ended up getting out rate lower but again we have to do that ourselves and argue for it.

Don’t use builders preferred lender
Even though I wouldn’t say our experience was terrible I will say it wasn’t very good. If you are buying a new construction home do not use the builders preferred lender. These people did not communicate hardly anything with us while we were waiting for our new home to be finished. They seem to have so many clients that they can’t keep up with notifying about updates or anything that was going on with the loan. Our closing costs were all over the place and we didn’t get one phone call to let us know what was going on. Ed is nice enough but I think he just has so many clients that they can’t keep up with. They were not very 1 on 1 with us and my husband and I were left feeling left out in the dark more times to count. Not to mention you need to schedule a call just to talk to him.
Megan's Tip: Use a smaller company lender. Don’t use a preferred lender.

Lender offered outrageous rates even with perfect credit and significantly low DTI. Lender took advantage of Builder incentive to mark up rate table and points for above average rates.
Jose's Tip: If builder offers incentive and allows for incentive to be used with any lender, always go with an outside lender instead of builders preferred lender.

From our first phone conversation to the day of closing (almost 2 years due to circumstances beyond our control) Ed was always available & willing to answer my questions. Worse Experience Ever
We did not want to use Jet Home Loans originally because of the poor service from Ed Mayor and his team. Ed is a Mortgage Loan Originator (NMLS 71999) and is the root of our complaint. I'll focus on the 2 larger issues that resulted in financial impact: The first was in regards to mortgage rate and closing disclosure. Ed and I had talked about the interest rates for the loan and how we had an option to add additional funds towards lowering the interest rate. On 12/6/2022 I informed Ed and his team we did not wish to put any additional funds towards lowering the rate. I also asked Ed to confirm we were not locked in the rate could be changed. Ed confirmed this via email same day. Several days went by without any follow-up communication. I reached multiple times asking for updates. I was told by one of the loan officers that we were awaiting the appraisal before moving forward. On 12/115 we receive the appraisal, on 12/20/2022 we were informed our loan was clear to close. I immediately followed up with Ed as we had still not discussed what the final rates would. He then called me and informed me that everything was done and ready to go. When I asked about the rate he confirmed money was put towards lowering the rate. When I asked why this was done contrary to our instructions on 12/16 Ed stated "I didn't see that email." I then explained that he did and even responded to the email confirming things weren't final. The second matter took place on 12/27/2022, the day before our closing, we were informed by the closing attorney that the loan officer and their team removed all deposits. Any EMD or Builder deposits could not be applied, and the builder would have to send an addendum to refund this money. We were responsible to cover the amounts out of pocket being refunded in order to close.

Home sweet home
My experience with working with Ed has been phenomenal. Words cannot explain how much joy it has brought to me and my family for the holidays. I had narrowed down my searches to other banking institution never considering jet homes but he came highly recommended and he definitely lived up to every word that they have told me about him. He made sure that he explains every part or process everything that he is about to do and will do. And the level of communication and the love that he provides is unexplainable. I would definitely recommend anyone to work with Ed. this is my first home and he made it feel like a home even adore I have never met him in person but just talking to him over the phone feels like we have been friends for years. Never too Late #1 Loan Officer
It's been several months since my husband, and I closed on our brand-new home in North Carolina. With our crazy and busy schedules, we both cannot forget how Ed Mayor has helped us in getting our second home loan in North Carolina. We currently live in NY for our jobs and finding a lot and builder during the pandemic was very challenging, but it was a huge blessing obtaining a home loan during the peak of the pandemic. We were recommended by the builder to use Ed Mayor. When we first spoke to Ed, we hit it off right away. His sense of humor, personality and his brilliant knowledge in the home buying process, was over the top and how he reassured us over and over that he will assist us in getting a home loan. He guided and educated us, walked us through the paperwork step by step. There were sometimes that we did not hear from Ed, like we had projected, but after learning about his busy work style, we stepped back and let him do his magic. In 2020/2021, it was a very busy time, everyone wanted a home loan more than ever and we understood that Ed had other applicants. He handled everything behind the scenes, called us when he needed to. It was a long journey in waiting for the house to be completed, but it happened, and we did it, thanks to Ed. Ed has gone above and beyond. We are very happy with the results and will always be forever grateful to him. It was very refreshing to be talked with instead of talked to. He was very efficient and accommodating to answer any questions or concerns that I had as well as take the time to help me along the way as I had for all intense and purpose had no other support /representation from my agent. Ed was very kind and truly showed care and compassion. At a time where someone is not vulnerable he was there and I don’t know how many times I said thank you but I’m sure it wasn’t enough. There were many bumps in the road and I was absolutely heartbroken when I lost my rate due to to all numerous delays of the house. He allowed me to lean on him always answering the phone or returning my call promptly. In a day and age where it seems everyone is just out for their paycheck - Ed is the exception. He remained constant during the entire 14 months- a genuine and kind man. Not sure that I would’ve made it through without having him as my loan officer.

My wife and I used Jet HomeLoans to purchase our house. I was very impressed with my loan officer Ed Mayor and his team. Fantastic with communication...I think Ed took my call literally every time I reached out to him which is incredible. This guy is a mortgage guru he just knows his stuff inside and out he could explain any little detail I asked of him I mean he just instilled confidence in us the entire way and we were of course very grateful for that since my wife and I were on edge praying and hoping everything worked out. I am truly grateful for Jet Home Loans giving me the opportunity to buy my beautiful new home. It has a been an absolute blessing. Mr. Mayor did a fantastic job at the beginning explaining how the loan process works and finding a great interest rate as a first time home buyer. Thank you. The only disappointment was the last minute underwriting process. It was at times difficult to communicate with the team when it came down to the wire. Mr. Mayor throughout this process had been very helpful, except the day before closing. I respect his line of work and am grateful for his help. However, I felt disappointed with his unprofessional attitude and demeaner. I understand the process can be stressful for all involved, however I felt my questions towards the end became more of a burden for him. Doreen Schear was a joy to work with as well. Thank you once again for the amazing opportunity to work with your lending service and helping me buy the home of my dreams!
