I enjoyed working with Lisa. She was available anytime I needed to ask her a question or have her explain things to me as I am a first time home buyer. I had a horrible ex with cornerstone and when I switched to FBC Lisa and Monica were both very helpful. I enjoyed working with them. If I ever buy again I will be coming back to FBC and hopefully be working with Lisa again.

Ultimately we got our home financed, which was the goal. Everyone involved was very communicative and highly professional to deal with. As a few issues came up, the team took some steps to troubleshoot, although my only complaint is that the troubleshooting only occurred after a problem arose and then everyone scrambled to find a way to overcome the issue. In retrospect, I think FBC could've done a better job communicating what pitfalls may arise from my specific financial situation (there was a lot of generic communication emailed to me about best practices when applying for a mortgage as well as informational videos but none that actually applied to my specific application). I honestly think if a preliminary assessment had been performed, we would've had 2 - 2.5 weeks to troubleshoot and overcome the issues rather than scrambling in the last 10 days. All in all, I'm happy with the result, although feel like stress and scrambling could've been avoided. Jennifer and her team were very quick to pick up the phone and communicate as often as needed, which I believe was very important in us getting the loan approved and ultimately closed. I was told that underwriting standards have tightened as a result of low interest rates combined with the impact of COVID-19. I wish that could've been summarized and included in the "informational emails" that were sent out early in the process.
