Overall Good Experience
Initial paperwork and process was straight forward. The loan assistant, Tara was super helpful providing explanations or info on loan details. Would have liked to see more communication before it was just 3-4 days prior to closing. Company requested additional docs before final underwriter approval which is expected. Again, just would have liked to see this requested in weeks prior to closing, not so close to closing date. It created pressure on the team, confusion for seller and myself (buyer) because of the uncertainty to close on time. Overall good experience but with a few improvements on time management and communication would make it a great experience. Note: Never spoke with assigned loan officer Mr. Andre, only assistants.
Heather's Tip: Ask loan officer for updates consistently after submitting initial paperwork. Attempt to receive conditional approval ASAP and then ask officer what additional docs you need to provide. Keep the ball rolling, provide docs/response to FBC in inept manner and keep requesting final approval docs so that you obtain them well before scheduled closing date.

The team at FBC is very quick to respond and keeps working with you to guarantee things are done on time. They also make the process very simply with their Docu-Sign tool.
Thomas's Tip: Store all of the files they need in a folder on your desktop and organize them so that they're easy to sort through. Also, keep in constant communication so that you can deal with surprises quickly and not delay closing.

I am a single father who pays child support and I was having a very difficult time getting approved due several factors. After working diligently to improve my credit, and deal with conglomeration of problems ranging from insurance claims, lawsuits, selling a house, etc. I was denied a loan with a lender I had been working with a week and a half before closing. Needless to say I was crushed! All the wind was sucked out of my sails and I was excepting the fact I would have to pay high rent prices or have my two kids share a bedroom in a cheaper rental. Lee Utley, caught wind of the situation and took it upon himself to get in Volvo’s and review all of my documents at the end of his work day. He then reaches out to me and expressed his willingness to try and get me approval! I was reluctant to hope again but he was so positive he reinvigorated me to keep trying. Not only did he succeed in getting me approved, I ended up closing earlier with a better interest rate and saved money on closing! Lee, your amazing, I appreciate anyone that’s good at their job, but it takes a special kind of person to dive into a seemingly hopeless situation with a positive attitude when you could have just went home for the day! Your impact on mine and my children’s life is so much more than I could explain here. Thank you Lee on be half of the Pugh family!
