Overall the financing aspect of acquiring out new home was positive. Mark MInadeo was very responsive. The incentive to use FBC was to get discounts off the list price for options to our home through the builder. I thought the closing costs were high compared to other lenders such as Third Federal Savings and Loan. The high closing costs were offset by the builder discount, so in the end it was a net savings to me. I wasn't sure whether my interest rate could have been locked at a lower rate because I was not presented with an option to do so before I initiated the process to lock when rates started to rise. I feel the whole loan process for a person who is not a W-2 employee is far too complicated and frustrating. The documentation required by the regulators is far too reaching; my credit scores are excellent, yet the process made me feel like I was a bad credit risk.

There were some issues with the hoa and the builder of the condo that is why the loan did not close on time. The loan officer and processor work hard to get everything done to close wirhin the extended period of time.
