Great Broker; Terrible Underwriting Process
I can't say enough good things about Lenny and Susan. However, the underwriting process I had to go through was horrendous. Apparently this is standard, and due to all the rules and regulations, but it was really awful. I was missing a $400 W2 and had to jump through hoops to track it down. Had to pull bank statements showing I transferred money from my savings account to my checking account over and over. Even though I submitted my docs immediately and weeks in advance, when it came time for my commitment letter, I was asked for MANY documents the DAY BEFORE. The process was absolutely horrible and caused me a ton of stress.
Benjamin's Tip: If you're moving, pull all of your documents before your move.

House closed on time and the rate I was given seemed to be fair. I didn't really appreciate having to pay for and take an online course in order to 'qualify' for the rate I was quoted. It wasn't brought to my attention until I asked about the fee showing up on the estimate. The course was not all that informative for me (I bought a house just two years ago) and just another hidden cost in my opinion. I did have to submit a couple things twice but not as much as I did with a previous lender on that previous purchase. Everyone was polite and professional and was willing to answer questions. A couple of the answers, they even admitted, didn't really make complete sense. I know there are some confusing descriptions and terms in the home financing world but things needs to be able to be communicated. I never did get a couple questions answered completely. i.e. "junk fees" total. There were a couple minor errors that I found as far as what I had already paid for directly. But 'minor errors' still cost home buyers hundreds of dollars, and when you find minor errors you start to worry about the larger ones a lot more. Loan Officer came to the closing in place of my realtor who couldn't make it so that was very nice of her/them
