I Didn’t believe I could get a loan. FBC & Stephanie surprised me! That began my adventure to move to Florida! During the 14 month build, Stephanie was careful to Assist me in completing the forms and details for my loan! Close Communication
The process lagged at times. At first, I was inundated with requirements for information that seemed to have a sense of urgency. Found out, this was not so. Information was necessary, but not right now, drop everything I was doing to get this done type of urgent. Realized that everything asked for was not really necessary at all. For instance, one request was for an enlarged picture ID. I never provided that and was never asked for that again. A couple of times, I was asked for the same items from two different people. I usually just responded to one. Guess it turned out OK, as we closed on time. I would not recommend the loan to be processed the builders preferred lender.
Gerald's Tip: Weed out the non-essential requirements. The are much more frustrated with needless requests. I understand the need to prove credit worthiness, but at times this is taken to extreme. By the way, my credit score, which usually is an indicator of ability and historical payment history, was at or above 800 fo the entire period.

LoanDepot turned us down for a mortgage on our new home, but FBC took the paperwork and with in less than a week we had our approval and closed on the original scheduled Closing date on our new Meritage Home in Villamar.

Poor Communication
Poor communication. After the first initial wonderful phone calls and emails with Daniel Hartwell, I was handed over to his assistant Jamie Sasse. That's where the communication took a bad turn. Working from home with several distractions, often putting you on hold without telling you, distracted by husband and children, talking above you, not returning emails or questions. I purchased a rate lock which cost me several thousand dollars. I was told she would check on this for a lower rate to make a change at least one time. I never received any follow up or guarantee this was ever done. I also asked Jaime to run some numbers for me which I wanted to see in writing. When I asked her about this on the phone she told me it was too late and that we had gone over these "details" by phone. Super disappointed!

Five star service
Brian was excellent and communicative the entire way through (a process that took nearly 10 months!). For example, I had questions pop up as I changed employment midway through and was wondering how that would affect the loan and Brian responded promptly with the right information to ease my concerns. The frequent videos were a joy to watch and, as a first-time home buyer, Brian and team provided all the proper information needed to help us along the home buying journey.

I want to add five more stars on to this review. Braxton and his team are incredible to work with and so knowledgeable about the process. Braxton handled everything thrown his way with grace and kindness. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable loan officer.

Cathy and her team are the only mortgage team I will ever work with! This was my second time working with them and they amaze me! They make the process so seamless and don’t mind answering all of my questions/emails. Josh and his team (Marissa) handled our loan from a 30 days close to a rushed 15 day close with ease. They took the time and communicated so we never felt like we were in the dark about any part of our loan process. Marissa was super communicative and explanatory in everything required to speed up the process for us. Such a great team. Our FHA process had a lot of red tape to cross but with this team it felt like it flew by!
