Hello - We had a very good experience. The first best part of this process was that our loan officer made us aware of lowered interest rates when we weren't looking or watching. Next best part: This was the beginning of a final monthly payment of $200 less than what we were paying and an interest rate lowered by almost 2 points.

David was great during each step of the way and was constantly updating us and keeping us informed. He was constantly helping us and trying to find ways to figure out what worked best for us. He was able to find ways for us to sign papers since we are at a different part of California than he was.
Brockton's Tip: Don't be stuck on one loan officer. You have to venture out because if we didn't, we wouldn't have met David and got us the loan we got.

I believe technology has negatively impacted the experience of obtaining financing to purchase a home in the following way. I received piecemeal requests, notifications and information in the form of emails and texts. I had one sit down face to face at the very beginning and then day of closing. I have a job that just does not allow me the luxury of responding several times a week to small requests. Better to have a list needed for a meeting once a week. I did not always get a prompt response from Shannon Keller throughout the process when I had questions. I have the final papers and still do not completely understand all the line items. I suppose on some level I don’t need to, but I prefer to. As for the various cutesy video emails....I quit opening them after the first one. The closing was delayed more due to sellers than on my end. I did have to ask the week before original closing date to hold all requests until my day off as the bombardment was overwhelming and stressful as I could not respond in a timely manner due to my job. That might have delayed as well. My initial call was returned in a timely manner.
Betty's Tip: Be very clear about what mode of interaction/communication would work best for you.

Assuming a mortgage through FBC was a fairly easy/smooth process with the guidance of Mr Townsend who was fully engaged and seemed very knowledgeable about the product we chose to use.
Christopher's Tip: Only issue or concern I had was the follow up on time sensitive documents that needed to be to the underwriter XX amount of days prior to closing. I had to call/email FBC inquiring on the doc which was not addressed and had us miss the closing date. If I didn’t inquire on the doc who knows how long we would/could have been postponed.
