I was able to get a good rate from FBC. They were able to match another lenders offer. Should be more proactive in explaining the reserve that has to be deposited in escrow account. It was just too confusing, to be disclosed 1 day prior to closing.

It got long and I think we were getting tired of each other. Part of that was having to provided the same material several times before we finally closed. It did seem like our uploads were not shared across functions within the company i.e. different people asking for the same documents.
John's Tip: Save everything related to communications. You will probably have to provide documents several times. Also, it seems like the handlers are so busy they really don't know who you are, so be prepared to update them every time you talk to them i.e. who you are and what you've asked of them in the past.

My Experience with FBC
From the first point of contact through the closing, the FBC team has been great. They were all very helpful and professional. They provided great customer service and responded to my questions in a timely manner.
Vicki's Tip: The contacts with FBC to start the mortgage process started a little too early in the home purchase and building process. Customers like us are a bit overwhelmed by the whole process of purchasing a new home and going through the building process. Since the building process takes 5 or 6 months, I'd suggest a slight delay and/or more gentle approach before the "push" to sign on with FBC.
