Ok- Not Informative
Jody could better serve his clients by providing explanations to common questions up front. On more than one occasion, after we would have a conversation, he would send a document that contradicted what we talked about. Each time there was a simple explanation but that would have been easy to provide up front. In fact, in one phone call about escrows Jody even said "customers always question this". If customers always have a question about it, then why not answer their question up? For example, when Jody send the closing documents, the amount to close was significantly more (nearly double) than the initial disclosure. Naturally, I had a question about this. In the end there was a simple explanation that they had not pulled an updated payoff amount for my current mortgage. I feel Jody could have relieved any confusion by pointing this out up front instead of me having to read through the documents, spend time comparing them and then calling him for an explanation that he wasn't quite ready to give. Even when I called, he still did not realize it was an issue of having the incorrect payoff amount. Instead he sent an email with big block letters, red bold face and yellow highlights explaining items that had nothing to due with the issue. It was a little silly since I felt like I was being YELLED AT through email. Ultimately, the final closing amount was $1,000 less than the original initial disclosure. Again, there were simple explanations for this that just needed to be provided up front instead of having to go back and forth and spend time comparing documents. In the end, I received a competitive rate so I'm satisfied but it would be hard for me to recommend Jody to family and friends. The refinance experience provided by Home Loans and the loan officer Anthony Edwards was fantastic. I was informed properly and timely of all the steps necessary to close the loan. The fee is very reasonable and well worth it. It was a great and pleasant experience.
CUONG's Tip: Follow the instructions provided by the loan officer, read the emails carefully and submit all documents on time or asap and your loan will be processed quickly and smoothly.

Refinance
The refinance process went smoothly and just as Gary said. There was a little lack of communication when it came to the amount due at closing. I was told I needed a cashier's check for over $700 at closing. Then when I got to closing I found out I was actually getting $300 back. There was also a mistake when our September house payment drafted from our account which was not supposed to happen.
Dirk's Tip: Get all closing docs verified before closing. I had a copy of closing expenses but apparently that changed between the time it was sent to me and the night of closing.

Solid Refi
Anthony was very knowledgeable about the process. At times I found it difficult to get in touch with other people that were part of the process, but Anthony usually responded quickly and accurately.
Kyle's Tip: If you are looking for someone to hold your hand every step of the way, this might not be a good match for you. If you can follow directions and don't mind sending email or calling Anthony for information, this will probably be an ok match.

Good Process With One Complaint
I had a positive experience. The online submission of information was fairly easy. The people that I worked with were very responsive. The loan closed as expected and on time. Only one complaint, my job verification was sent to a random email the picked up off of our company website, was received by several people in our office and included both my husband's and my social security numbers in full. This is not a proper way to verify employment and could easily put our personal information at risk.

Sensational refinance experience
Kara & Dan were sensational to work with, walked us through a very tiresome process made even more difficult by an incompetent appraiser whom completed a flawed and tainted appraisal initially, but Dan & Kara stepped up and paid for a 2nd appraisal for us which we were able to use for closing of our refinance. The process was a long one but was not due to any of their control, and what they had control over was flawless. Kara & Dan are both very well spoken and eloquent in their emails, my preferred form of contact as I often find myself in the field and unable to take phone calls. I want to give one last grand THANKS to both Kara & Dan for all of their assistance in this process and there is no one else i will turn to for any future mortgage needs i may acquire or require.

Good Refinance
I'm very pleased with the refinance we had with Home Loan Today - a lot better than some other companies we had before. Their rate was competitive. Loan Officer Anthony Edwards was very helpful and responsive to our questions and concerns. The deal was closed on the exact day as planned. The only minor complaint is that the loan processor was not very responsive in acknowledging our submital of documents. (When you had sent in a whole bunch of docs, there is no word whether he received them or not--that's a little unsettling. I hope this can be improved

We refinanced our rental property with Home Loans Today. I was amazed we could get such a great rate on the rental. They were prompt and responsive at every step. The team was efficient and worked hard to make it all work. I would gladly recommend this company!

overall satisfied
Though it took some time to go over the process and the docs, the loan closed successfully close to the time was told (a week later). There was an external investor involved and that caused more delays and the closing day was a little crazy. However overall satisfied with the lender,got a good comparative rate.

Good rate, decent experience. Room for improvement.
The overall process was okay. We got a good rate, but were promised a better one via an exception. In the end, there was no exception so that better rate that we were hoping for didn't happen. I also caught a number of accounting mistakes on closing that were eventually refunded.

Easy Refi
The representatives at Home Loans Today were prompt and responsive. They communicated regularly through the refi process and we were able to get a great interest rate through them.
Michelle's Tip: Make sure you have all important documents - paystubs, tax info, bank info, etc... readily available. It makes the process much simpler on your end.
