The FBC team did a fantastic job for my wife and I. We had a $5K incentive from the seller to close by March 31st. We nailed it. I've bought 4 houses in my life and this was the first time the closing happened on the original closing date. Great communication with prompt replies from the FBC team. Nice to have folks in your corner that know who you are, so you can call them with questions and they actually know the answers - you don't get that with the huge banks.
Matthew's Tip: Get your paperwork scanned in and ready, save it on a cloud, so when they need something you can get it over quickly.

Fast and easy
Matt and his team made our refinance fast and easy...even though we made several changes they were able to get us closed quickly and painlessly. I think what makes the process so smooth is the communication between the team and us. Emails were answered immediately. I highly recommend FBC mortgage and if I ever need another mortgage loan Matt Andre will be the only call I will make....he will take it from there.

Working with FBC was much better than my previous lender(s). They were available and responsive when contacted, and they were patient with my questions. There were a couple of hiccups in the process of getting our loan approved, which were disappointing, but all-in-all, I am very thankful to have worked with FBC for our refinance.
Angela's Tip: Have all personal information and paperwork ready before you start the process, that way there are fewer files that they keep asking for. Additionally, it is easier if there are not a lot of inquiries on your credit prior to your loan processing.

Buying a new house can be a very stressful process and in my experience, working with people that act like robots or are in automated mode can add to the stress because you get that feeling that no one really cares, well, that was not the case with FBC Mortgage. Their service was outstanding! They may think that they are in the Banking Industry, I say they are in the Helping People Make Their Dreams Come True Business. They have it all, professionalism and diligence, quick responses to your questions, accessibility, reliability , they all work like a real team for the right hand always know what the left hand is doing. FBC Mortgage works like a fine tuned machine! The best thing is that all of that is accomplished without loosing that human touch for we even laughed several times when we talked over the phone. They might think they are just doing theor job, well, yes, and may we add a hell of a good one (pardon lol). Keep up the great work and thanks for being instrumental in making our dream come true! Lender Critique
First, let me say that I was completely ignorant of the lengthy process one must complete to obtain a home loan in today's market. FBC Mortgage painfully enlightened us. To be fair I must commend them for their patience, hard work and professionalism under a very tight deadline. Unfortunately, there were multiple employees to deal with, which I found annoying because I was not sure each knew what the others were doing. It was a tedious, inefficient, redundant and time consuming process. Our last experience with obtaining a home mortgage occurred two years ago in Maryland. We used our federal credit union, where we walked in without an appointment and in less than 20 minutes were approved for a higher mortgage amount than we got from FBC. We did follow-up with some required paperwork, but only a small fraction of what was required by FBC. Our credit union experience was one person, limited paperwork, quick approval, and no frustration. Our FBC experience was the opposite. Had it not been for a strong recommendation from our builder and the lure of funds toward closing costs, we would not have considered FBC, and even now I am not sure it was worth the trouble. Second, we were more than dismayed by an error in our preliminary closing documents. We originally pointed out a $10,000 omission in our deposit amount, then later in the process, the error was still there. Mistakes of this nature should never be made, because it was identified, mentioned, and expected to be corrected. If reflects poorly on a company's process, or at least their quality assurance. As a customer, when I find one error, I feel there are likely to be others. We had to spend an inordinate amount of time carefully reviewing all FBC documents. Considering the amount of money, I think more time reviewing and checking should have been taken by FBC. Third, I understand that this was a rushed project. Let me be clear. The short timeline closing date was not a deadline imposed by us. Perhaps, it was the builder's deadline to get the house off their books by the end of the month, or not. No matter, if FBC Mortgage needed more time to process the loan, then they should have said so up front. Rushed projects more than likely lead to errors. In addition we were tasked by FBC with multiple requests for immediate action/attention/information. The ultimate aggravation for us was having the final closing documents from FBC emailed to us 11 minutes before closing. Unfortunately, they did not arrive in time, as we were already in the title company office. We had no time to compare the changes to our preliminary numbers. There were many differences which resulted in a three hour closing instead of perhaps 40 minutes. FBC was not at the table, so their time was not wasted, but ours was. Finally, here is a suggestion. I recommend FBC provide future loan customers with a complete, detailed list of all of the information they require at the beginning of the loan application process. The repeated, piecemeal, redundant requests for information is both inefficient and aggravating to the customer. You may want to consider forming a process action team to streamline your operation . . . just a suggestion.
Francis's Tip: Compare rates with many lenders. FBC did not provide the lowest rate. In fact they only reluctantly lowered their rate to match our credit union's rate, but then tried to pull back the promised closing cost help. I consider this poor business practice. In the end I found several companies with lower rates, so compare, but be sure to get all the facts as early in the process as you can, and write down all promises, and hold them to their promises.
