Need more frequent status updates
During initial loan review, it seemed that large amounts of time went by with no updates. It was not clear which part of the organization was reviewing the loan application or if anyone was even working on the loan application. I would have liked to have seen better acknowledgement of receipt of documentation, and where we were in the application process (waiting for documentation, review by underwriter, etc). Seems like the process took a long time. Almost 7 working days from documentation submission until we heard from Processor (no contact during this period). Then, 4 more weeks of exchanging emails about documentation, and another week until conditional approval. I recalled a couple of incidents where I was told that I should have a decision the next day, but after a couple of days had to follow up to request a status. I would prefer more proactive communication. Also, "failure" of secure document submission was a bit concerning. I submitted documents through website and was told "They are not uploading can you fax or e-mail them to me?". What is the point of having secure document submission if the recipient cannot upload them?
