Fantastic and Informational Lender for first time homebuyers

Jon was a great resource for us during the first time home buying process. He was willing to take the time to run multiple cost sheets for comparison while other lenders would not even give us the time of day! He made sure the process ran very smoothly and was always available to answer any questions. Process was very easy to complete with a majority of documentation/signing being done online.

FBC Mortgage process review

The loan officer was available or returned calls promptly. There were 2 or 3 other individuals involved in the approval process and all were helpful ,knowledgable, on the same page.

Diane's Tip: Double check the lenders Title Insurance number and the owners Title Insurance number on the closing documents. There was a discrepancy but it was resolved quickly.

Convenient and Helpful

John and his team were very helpful. Nichol Krumroy in particular was great--she was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, quick with responses, and helpful to us. It's also convenient how you are able to submit nearly all documents electronically; the e-signatures and document portals allowed us to submit pieces on our time--much needed for adults working full-time jobs who can't get to the office in person.

Jenna's Tip: Ask a lot of questions. The team is knowledgeable and is very willing to help, so if you're unsure about anything, just ask. We asked Nichol A LOT of questions and she was never annoyed, rude, or ill-informed.

Went thru FBC via Maronda Homes. Never met anyone in person, business was conducted via email. Very little explanation was provided unless asked.

This loan was like a circus--too many hoops to jump through

This was a very unpleasant experience considering we have done this twice before. We have never been asked so many personal financial questions. Considering we own two properties-one completely paid off- and both have credit scores of over 800, we could not believe how many papers we had to provide, and never ending financial questions. We felt like we were forced to use FBC by the homebuilder, since they refer all their customers to them. We had already been preapproved by another company, but were told if our company was not ready to close when we were given the closing date, an exorbitant interest fee would be charged daily. We were questioned as to where our money was coming from-including a statement like "for all we know, your money could be coming from Tony Soprano!" It was a horrible experience from beginning to end.

Mary's Tip: Go somewhere else!

Home Loan

I found the entire loan process very user friendly, from the time of contact, the on-line application, emailing or faxing all of the documentation, questions answered in a timely fashion (either by phone or email), and all of us, realtor, attorney, lender and myself being able to align all of the paperwork in order to close on time. From start to finish, I felt this was a very quick process.

Exceptional Service

What a pleasure. I have heard with the new things going on in mortgages that the process is a nightmare. I can see how it would be but Jonathan and his staff really made this easy. There is A LOT of documentation I needed to supply, but it was always communicated promptly and efficiently. Jonathan knew his mortgages inside out, upside down, and every which way. Got me into a program with only 5% down and no mortgage insurance payment every month. Awesome experience!!!
