We really didn't deal with Jonathan except for on one brief occasion. We dealt with the other members of his team. So I'm really not able to properly rate Jonathan. As a whole I think FBC did an alright job. They lacked in some items but in the end everything got done.

Maronda Homes loan

I was pleased with FBC and their promptness and some of their attitudes. I however never really dealt with Jonathan more with his colleagues so I'm not actually able to rate him personally. I felt the officers I did deal with did not provide us with all information that we needed to know.

Would not recommend FBC Mortgage in Pittsburgh!

The builder was offering a substantial discount if you used his lender, FBC Mortgage. As I was relocating from another state and did not have a banking relationship, this combined with the discount made it pretty much my only option. In the beginning of the process things went pretty smooth. I am totally aware that the mortgage process is not what it was in the past however, I expected a greater level of service and professionalism. Numerous unanswered emails and phone calls from Mr. Marcoline and his staff. The movers had boxed up my house in Ohio and were on the road and I still did not have a confirmation of my closing on Monday at 10:00 a.m., it was now Friday at 4:00 p.m.! All week I had tried to reach Mr. Marcoline and he never returned one of my phone calls and his staff is highly underwelming and appeared to be quite clueless most of the time. His staff did not return urgent calls as well. Relocating is highly stressful as it is, a simple return of a phone call to reassure me things were on track would have went a long way! Desperate....I located the corporate number in Florida and reached a manager at 4:00 on the Friday before closing. I expressed my concern and dissatisfaction. She did some research and by 5:15 I had the answer that I had been looking for all week. She indicated that she would look into why the phone calls were not returned as it was not acceptable however, I haven't heard back from anyone. So glad this nightmare is over, it almost wasn't worth the $18,000 discount that the builder was giving.... Highly recommend that you stay away from Jonathan Marcoline and his staff in Pittsburgh.

BRANDON's Tip: Be sure to follow everything the lenders say. The process is long and stressful, but all extremely worth it at the end of the day.

Unhappy customer

Our closing was scheduled and executed in one afternoon, and upon our arrival we had never been provided the final sales documents for review. The amount for closing was provided at 2:45 pm and the closing was at 3:30... Totally inconsiderate. Once we arrived, our loan rate was an entire point above what it should have been. We left and rescheduled for a week later, after all errors were corrected. All in all I felt it was very rushed and sloppy. I would not use this builder or loan company again.

Made my purchase a job and not enjoyable

We started off with one loan officer and sent ALL of our required documentation. Shortly after, we were contacted by another asking us to send our info again, as the first rep was no longer with them. Then a week later we had a 3rd person contact us asking the same, stating we never sent or they "couldn't find it". After dealing with this 3rd person we then had to contact a 4th, Jonathan. We had to send documents three and 4 times before they finally stopped harassing us about it. Paystubs, financial records, signed documents, proof of employment. You name it! Not to mention, there were a few times that we reached out to them with NO RESPONSE, including Jonathan. I'm looking forward to the fact that they will sell off our loan and we will never have to deal with them again.

John's Tip: Don't use them if at all possible.

Such a big help

Jonathan was very knowledgeable and helpful, from start to finish. As a first time home buyer, I didn't know what I needed or what steps to take. Jonathan walked me through the process and was very patient with my questions. I never thought I would own a home, but Jonathan put my mind at ease. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Great Experience

Everyone that we worked with at FBC was knowledgeable and helpful from when we began building the house through closing. All of our emails and phone calls were answered or returned right away. The employees also helped us to maximize how we used a closing costs credit from our builder. Overall, a great experience working with FBC.

A great experience

I was very happy with my experience with FBC Mortgage and Jonathan. He, along with Samantha Miller, was extremely prompt in answering any question that I had and made the process as easy as possible. They let me know all the paperwork that was needed to be returned to them and forwarded along anything that I needed to complete. They were both extremely kind and very easy to deal with, both through email and also on a handful of phone calls. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about those two.

STEPHEN's Tip: I was working with one other person (Kristen?) for a majority of the process and I learned in a rather abrupt manner that she no longer worked there. While it isn't necessary to understand the details of why she left, it would have been nice to get a notification if possible.

Eassy to deal with

Everything we had to do was very easy the only critizsism I have is that we had to provide a lot of documentation in a very short amount of time, I am not sure if it was the builder or FBC that gave such a short time line but we did meet all the expectations.

RYAN's Tip: Ask for a list of documents you will need for closing your loan so you are not scrambling like we were in the final days.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!!!

We had excellent expereince with the FBC team here in Pittsburgh!!! Great customer service is an extreme understatment, they were top notch in every aspect of customer service. Jon, Krista and Samantha were knowledgable, professional and above all, they were caring. My wife and I felt that we were always in their best of intentions, which is why we're in our beautiful home!!!
