We recently purchased a new home and had an excellent experience with FBC. The staff was friendly, courteous and never made us feel like we were idiots in the dozens of questions we asked through the process. We felt that they were working hard for us to have a smooth closing and to work in our best interest. Would recommend them highly and would certainly work with them again.

My first mortgage
We applied initially for the USDA loan then was later told our community was not qualified for this loan. So we had to switch to fha .I was not satisfied with the decision to go fha so I called usda and was told the community is qualified. I then ask fbc to switch us back to usda. Then there was an issue with a judgement on my credit report that was discharged in bankruptcy 7 years ago. I had to hire a lawyer to get that resolved. After that was resolved I was told I might not be qualified for usda because my projected income might exceed usda maximum income guide lines. It was just a stressful process and I'm glad it's over and thank God we got the loan.
Delroy's Tip: Stay abreast of the process and dont give up. Ask questions and do your research on anything you dont understand.

Good humans in front, robots in back
This is probably typical of all lenders, but while the people I talked to were reasonable and rational human beings trying to accommodate the fact that I'm a 1099 contractor (instead of a W-2 employee), the underwriters, mystery people behind the scenes, nagged me constantly for unreasonable and silly requests for documentation that defied logic.

Home Purchase process
The entire home purchase process was extremely easy. Communication was great! We always had someone get back to us immediately if we had any questions. Closing was really quick and Liza explained everything to us thoroughly and answered any questions we had. The best part is that we did not have to pay closing costs! Overall it was a great experience. I will be recommending to friends and family.

poor management
Had problems from the start, poor communication ,missing files, never told me I had to wire my down payment so I couldn't get my key after closing and I had to wait until monday to get into my new home. Jay and his assistance were professional but the loan processor was terrible it was the most frustrating experience, I wouldn't recommend.

Fast and Friendly
After the original lender denied the loan, for a non-financial reason, with only 2 weeks before the closing FBC jumped in quickly to help. While most lenders will never quote less than 30 days to complete the paper work FBC managed to get my approved\finalized in 2 weeks. While I'm sure this is not the norm or what they prefer they never-the-less stepped up and made it a smooth process to complete in 2 weeks.
Gary's Tip: Get all paper work in order as quickly as possible and make sure to ask questions.

Although very stressful most of the time, I realized that most of the problems were because of my individual tax situation. I have to admit that this all came together because my loan officer did not quit. I would have... way before he did. Hat's off, he did his job!
ANASTACIO's Tip: If you are self employed, in an unincorporated territory of the United States, forget it, buy something in Guam.
