I had a positive encounter with team Jay. My concern was always answered either by phone or via email in a timely manner except for one time it didn't happened. Jay always responded to my call and clarify my concerns.
Merline's Tip: first time buying into a community with HOA asked questions on what money the HOA will be taking out of closing.

Confusing number of contact persons/Confusion at closing
NUMBER OF CONTACT PERSONS I was aware that I was working with Team J&J, as stated in the initial email from Alexa Raborn. I never understood who my loan officer was, however, until the day the loan was closed. I worked with Nancy Furches initially, then with Shayla Brown after Ms. Furches' departure. Over time, I received correspondence from two other people, Sarah Williams and Jared Varitek. I vaguely remember a phone call from Jay Zerquera early in the loan process. CONFUSION, DELAY AT CLOSING I was confused by the designation of the property as a secondary home, as I had stated at the beginning of the loan process that I would be selling my current home in Arkansas and making the Florida property my primary home. The escrow officer at the title company I used for a courtesy closing contacted Bonnie at Avex Title, who said she would place a call to the loan officer and ask for clarification. After waiting for 30 minutes or more for a callback and unsure whether the loan needed to be renegotiated, we decided to halt the closing process. I left a message for Shayla Brown, and later received a call from Jay Zerquera, who explained why the property was considered to be a secondary home. I was frustrated that this information was not clarified with me before closing.
Jan's Tip: Ask for the name of your loan officer at the beginning of the process. Clarify who will be your primary contact throughout the process. Ask for a review of the loan paperwork before closing.

Excellent Team
Jay, Tyler and Catherine all worked together to ensure that my mortgage process was painless and prompt. They kept me informed of my progress and delivered a speedy mortgage without any delays or complaints. The builder caused a delay just prior to closing, but my mortgage and rate were immediately updated.

This was an awesome experience I was a first time home buyer.I got my pre-approval 15,000.00 more than Bank of America may I add. They sent me a list of everything they needed from me to make the process go smooth. I returned all the documents I could. They requested the Documents from the IRS i didn't have. Travis's Tip: Get the list of Documents they need back to them ASAP.. Faster they have the documents the faster you have your house..

I worked with Cynthia most of the time, she is really willing and attentive to respond. My only negative comment is that they should let the customer know in advance for any special addittional requeriments for loans. I needed a document to be translated and they just sent me a bill for the translation, I didn't have the chance to do it by myself even when I asked for it many times.
Gustavo's Tip: Let clients know in advance about adittional requeriments and give them time to look for options.

My husband and I were first time homebuyers and team J&J with FBC was very helpful. We worked with loan officer Jay Zerquera and his partner Nancy. They both kept me informed on what was needed to be done. I'm especially grateful for Cat, our loan processor. We worked with her for the bulk of the process. She did a fantastic job at keeping us updated on what was happening with the loan process. Cat was very prompt at returning my emails and she always found an answer to my questions. It felt like talking to a friend, which made the experience enjoyable. Thanks team J&J for helping us with our first home.

Team J&J (Jay, Jennifer, Nancy & Tyler) did an excellent job on my VA Loan. Jay explained everything from A to Z and was always there for me. They offered unsolicited updates on where we were at in the underwriting process. Jay and the team were professional and courteous from start to finish. I highly recommend them for your mortgage needs. Cant go wrong with Team J&J and FBC Mortgage. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting my family a home!

Never I will recomend this company to anybody...Never!!!
The communication with the lender was horrible, I used to leave messages, sometimes I got an answer sometimes the next day, or never...I was waiting for days to know the status of my loan, they used to tell me everything was ok, when I called VA they told me there were lot inconsistencies with the numbers, even VA told me that they did not receive the right paperworks and just because that made my process even longer, and that made me lose time, money..it was a nightmare...
Wilkins's Tip: If your credit is above 780...you return your papers on time..you do everything you been asked...and want to know the status of what are you doing and want a great company to work for you....Dont go to FBC..

Pretty Painless Experience
Everyone that we dealt with at FBC were very quick to answer our questions. Cynthia went above and beyond to help explain an issue we had providing a bank statement that was requested. The only small complaint is that we had to wait a while at our closing appointment for the paperwork to be sent over from FBC, but it wasn't too bad:) Thanks!!
