It all went very well. I feel that I probably could have gotten a little better interest rate with another lender but I am satisfied with where it ended. They made it very very easy. A lot of this is the builders fault for taking another 7 weeks to finish the house.

Severly Dissatisfied
My experience with the mortgage process with FBC was horrible. My Loan Officer, Quinta Outridge, was terrible. She cause me to not get registered with OHFA (Ohio Housing Finance Assoc) in a timely manner therefore causing my interest rate to go from 4.625% to 5% resulting in a $56 increase in my mortgage payment. I believe worst of all she would never take responsibility for her actions. I would bring my concerns to her attention and she would direct the blame back to me. FBC as a whole may be a good company but with workers on the frontline making mistakes that are costly that puts a blemish on the whole company. I could go into more detail but what I have stated is enough to explain my dissatisfaction with my experience with FBC.
Tina's Tip: From the testimonials I have read, FBC does pretty good with Florida residents. However, if you live in Ohio, I would choose another lender. They were not familiar with Ohio grants at all which resulted in me paying a higher rate than what was quoted to me. My monthly mortgage went from $1311 to $1367. I paid the price and I don't want to see anyone else in Ohio go through what I went through.

Barbara Gonzalez is great!!!
The overall experience was very stressful. It made it even more stressful that we had a hard time getting in touch with Quinta. We were ready to just say forget the whole thing and start over with someone else. That's when Barbara Gonzalez came into the picture. If this lady is not employee of the year, she should be. She stayed in contact with me on basically a daily basis. Keeping me informed and updated. She talked to me liked she really cared about us, and just not about the business. She understood my stress level and had a great knack for keeping me stress free. The only sad thing is when everything was complete, we didn't get to talk with Barbara any more. Thank you for having such a wonderful and knowledgeable person on your staff. I will refer anybody to FBC mortgage because of her.
Donald's Tip: I know Quinta had health issues. But when she is not there, someone needs to step in shoes and follow up with her customers.

Poor communication
Communication was lacking during the entire process and I felt rushed off any time we spoke over the phone.

Our experience with FBC has been a very good one. Quinta was AMAZING...as well as Anne Gilmore. We had a small issue with some requested documents, but FBC handled with very little issue
Robert's Tip: I'm not sure how you would handle this, but in my case, we had an issue come up with a divorce from 18 years prior. FBC requested copies of the entire divorce decree and the separation agreement. Those documents would have been available at the BEGINNING of the loan process (pre-approval) however were packed away in one of three storage units by the end of the process. As mentioned FBC worked it out, but may not work so easily for future clients. Other than that...everything went flawlessly

Friendly, Helpful and Knowledgeable
We started from scratch on a uncleared lot, from day one FBC was quick and alerted us to all of their needs to process our loan. We take great pride in keeping good credit and maintain organized records of all our financial documents. This made quick and easy work for the lender. The electronic communications were clear and concise, it was the easiest part of building a new home. Thank You FBC.

Quinta was wonderful and always available to answer our questions and provide information. Very early in the process we had another person helping us who who had difficulty understanding the VA process. As we were considering changing Quinta called to let us know she would be assisting us and all was well from that point forward.
