Excellent Service Beginning to End
People always say that buying a home is probably the most stressful thing you will do in life but with FBC & Adams Home my experience was very smooth. They were very informative, answered my thousands of questions as a first time home buyer. They always responded in a timely manner via email and phone. But a home is overwhelming however they made it as smooth as any home buying process could be! It wasn’t just one person it was everyone I had contact with from the beginning to the closing. The Worst Home Buy Experience Ever
The loan approval process was the worst I have ever been a part of. From not knowing that the property was in a flood zone until 5 days before close due to no upfront research to needing additional docs the day before close that could have easily been completed days before close. The personnel attention to such a major decision was not provided at all. The process seems one sided in the pursuit to completion. We felt we were in it alone. Finally with this being the worst process no one. NO ONE communicated with us but the closing attorney. Again worst experience ever.
Alfonzo's Tip: Understand your type of client immediately. Manage each differently. Support the effort do not look to complete the effort. Do not make it so obvious with the motions. At a minimum make it seem as though this decision is as big for you as it is for the client. When issuing arise stay with the client all the way thru it.

Less than Stellar
Lee, Tyler and Leigh Ann were able to answer our questions and were very responsive. Any time we had a question we could reach them by phone or email and they would respond in a timely manner. Although they were willing to adjust our original loan rate, based on a lower rate from another lender, we left the conversation feeling like we were asking for something that we didn't deserve. The primary issue we had seems to have stemmed from the poor communication between FBC and our builder relative to the purchase price, that was brought to our attention the day before our scheduled closing. Needless to say we got through it and rescheduled the closing a few days later, but this issue could have been avoided, especially given we were building our home and had started the process with FBC 6 months prior to the closing date. As the preferred lender of the builder they should have a better communication process.

Could really use a Secure Portal and Checklists
First off, working with Lee and his time was farily stress-free. They were very responsive and closing went very smoothly. My only real criticism is that there did not seem to be any way to use a secure portal to send documents to and from the agents. No one I know has a fax, and I don't have time to drive out to their offices, so I was left with emailing things like pay stubs and bank statements. This was less than ideal. Also, there was never a "list of required items needed" but rather I would get seemingly random emails asking for more statements, a letter that was never mentioned, or paperwork that needed to be redone because it wasn't properly filled out. Seemed a little disorganized. But overall we closed with no issues and got a great rate on top of it.
Alex's Tip: Ask them if they have a secure portal for all the sensitive documents they need.
