Short turn around
I had not purchased a home in 25 years, so I did not know what to expect of the process. We had a tight turn around time line, and the FBC crew came through for us. I think it was three weeks, or slightly less, from contract agreement to closing. Scott and Sarah were extremely prompt in responding to all of our questions, and from my perspective, they were in lock step the entire time. I'd use FBC and especially Scott and Sarah again in a flash!

great start, anxious ending
Scott Kennedy assured us that he could get the job done and he came thru. His colleague Sarah Sneed was great to work with. The process went incredibly smooth for the first 95% but became a little rocky during the last 36 hours. Their communication was excellent throughout. Scott and Sarah always responded to any question or concern in a timely fashion, whether thru text, email, or phone call. I'm not sure who is responsible for the last 36 hours, but our experience was awful. We needed to have our approval and paperwork sent to our title company by Thursday morning so we could returned all the signed and notarized documents thru overnight mail for a Friday closing. From Wednesday on, we continued to hear it was awaiting final approval and that it was being looked at by a manager or underwriter. We finally received the package Thursday afternoon at about 2:30. Fortunately we had the forethought to be at our home credit union with a notary waiting, where we printed, signed, and set the land speed record to the post office to send the overnight with literally minutes to spare. To say that last day was stressful would be the understatement of the century!! We were within minutes of losing our deal. We can't believe the final days couldn't run smoother than they did.

Needs to follow up with his clients, not everyone is knowledgeable and understand the process. Buying a home is a big step, commitment and investment. The lender should be available and attentive to the client, walk them thru the steps and guide them to make a good decision.
Louis's Tip: Lack of customer service, the staff are not knowledgeable had to wait for Scott's call to get answers. Needs to be more sensitive to people's needs, goals and future. Not organized and not attentive to detail, I consistently had to inform them the information on the paperwork was incorrect. My closing was delayed due missing paperwork from the lender.

The entire process started out real smooth, then got rocky, really quick. Scott still made everything happen and on time! Everything was great, my only negative was lots of paperwork was sent without some explanation of what I am signing. I was either able to google the forms or call and get the answer.
