HASSLE FOR A LOAN
FROM DAY ONE WHEN WE GOT THIS LOAN IT HAS BEEN A CONSTANT BATTLE TO THE FINISH. THEY WAITED TIL THE LAST MINUTE TO TELL US WHAT INFORMATION WE NEEDED TO SEND AND FRANKLY AS A VET I HAD TO SHOW WHERE I RECIEVED CERTAIN AMOUNTS ON MY TAX RETURN. NO VET SHOULD HAVE TO GO THRU WHAT I DID FOR THIS LOAN REGARDLESS OF PROTOCOL OR PROCEDURE. IT WAS NEVER LIKE THIS IN THE PAST AND NEEDS A COMPLETE OVERHALL OF THE SYSTEM FOR VETS GETTING LOANS. AS A VIETNAM VETERAN THAT NEVER HAD A HOMECOMING FROM THE GOVERNMENT I HOPE THE NEW PRESIDENT DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THIS WHILE HE IS IN TERM.
Steven's Tip: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING CURRENT FOR THE INFORMATION YOU GIVE TO FBC BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR A LOAN WITH THEM.

Within the last 4 days before the closing, we were still getting papers to sign from FBC. Of which some of them, could not be turned around in a conceivable decent time frame. To be honest with you, this by far, the WORST closing process that I have ever gone through.

Nothing was what they told us
They came highly recommended, so I was really surprised when everything was so awful. Nothing was what they initially told us. They failed to process the loan on time and we missed the first closing, had to get an exception, and almost missed that. They failed to submit documents to underwriting and when we followed up asking why there wasn't an update, we were told they were waiting for things they already had. Very frustrating experience.

Great experience
I was referred to FBC from the selling agent of my new home after having trouble getting approved from the builders preferred lender due to old issues in my credit. I discussed with Mark the case and develop a plan to clarify everything. The underwritting process went smooth with documents being required only once in contrast to a previous experience in which I was requested the same documents over and over. Overall I was kept well informed and the process was very good.
Leonardo's Tip: The process will be stressful even when you think you have all your finances in order. Be patient
