Thanks, a stressful undertaking which turned out well.
At one point, after sending and resending via email various pieces of required information (which sometimes was difficult to obtain) I remarked to Krissy Osborn that this process could replace waterboarding! In the end it all worked out and we are pleased. I wish we been doing this when the interest rate was lower but that is just how the market goes. Debra Clark and Krissy Osborn were the persons we worked with the most and they both worked hard to do their best for us. Debra helped us get a better interest rate than we might have if she hadn't helped us. Everyone we worked with was very helpful in this confusing and time-consuming process. Thanks much.
Charles's Tip: Try to understand fully what the mortgage officers are asking of you so that you don't have to do your part over and over.

June's Tip: Be prepared to use their website to upload documents and make sure your all in one printer/scanner/copier is in working order because you will use it a lot. Ours was packed away.

FBC Mortage Review
My experience with FBC was bitter sweet. Reason being, is because my husband and I were 1st time home buyers and most of the language seemed like jargon to us and we were so new to EVERYTHING. I was grateful for the open communication with Debra, Krissy and Tina. Debra was always responsive and readily available by email and all times of the day which we appreciated because we were able to communicate quick and effective. Debra worked hard and was very patient with us throughout it all.
Yanela's Tip: Ask questions, be patient, and don't get frustrated because though they may seem like they are ignoring you, it the complete opposite and they are working your file.

Great experience
I am a fist time homebuyer and I was very nervous about the whole process. I had a million questions before I even applied. All of my questions and concerns were addressed. Debra Communicated with me at all times and kept me up to date with the process step by step. She even communicated with me after hours and on weekends which was great ! She responded to my emails very quickly no matter what time of day or night it was !! This has been an amazing experience and I could not have gotten through this if it weren’t for her help!!! Thank you FBC and Debra for all of your help!!! The experience was great !

My husband and I were first time home buyers going into this process with little to no information on the home buying/building loan process. Although we were naïve in the loan field, it is clear now that this process shouldn't have been as frustrating and difficult as it was. We had a ton of help from out relators, thank God, because the loan company did nothing for us. The communication, if you want to call it that, was terrible and nothing was ever explained well. I repeatedly sent documents to multiple different people they asked for and apparently lost. Through the whole process, we dealt with multiple different people to the point of confusion on who was handling our loan. There were two separate occasions during our process, that we were sent other customers loan information to include sensitive information. My husband and I were put in multiple different loan types that we didn't qualify for, which our relators had to point out to us and delayed closing. Every version of our loan estimate had inconsistent numbers to include the Alta on our day of closing. When we were finally put in the loan program that we qualified for and was in our best interest (a week before our first closing date) our loan officer failed to immediately lock in our interest rate. The delay in locking in the rate resulted in a higher interest rate a few days later that costs us a recognizably amount of difference on our monthly payment that ultimately could have been avoided. After the interest rate lock mess up, we decided to reach out to the manager, who was mistakenly looking at someone else’s loan, confusing us even more. No sort of responsibility or resolution was offered to us, leaving us with a complete lack of confidence in FBC. It appeared as if FBC didn’t care and failed to assist their customer in this situation. Their lack of organization and communication on our loan caused a complete headache. I wouldn’t recommend FBC.
Megan's Tip: Be prepared to do your own research on loan programs because they are not helpful.
