Nightmare
Communications between myself and the loan specialist was the worse. There was no way of contacting her over the phone. All was done via email. It was frustrating not receiving an answer right away, specially if you're a first time home owner. Her assistant Dylan always requested me to wait on the specialist to receive an answer to my questions so no help there. I was told by Debra that she receives 500-600 emails a day and could not respond right away. It was one questions after the other as the emails were not to the point or clear most of the time. There were many things that changed from beginning to end. There was information I was not told about until closer to closing. Debra was not informative.

Our experience with Debra and other staff at FBC was excellent. The mortgage application and documentation process has become quite onerous in recent years and many people struggle with the process. I'm a finance professional so don't really need hand-holding to apply for mortgages...I've done it at least 20 times in the past for both residential and investor loans. One can and should expect hiccups along the way given the new regulatory landscape. I found Debra to be diligent, hard-working, and very pleasant to work with. For that matter, so was the entire FBC Mortgage staff. I think you will find them easy to work with, too.
Mason's Tip: Get your ducks in a row...and be timely with document requests. The documentation requests these folks make are not idle requests -- they are essential to getting your loan package approved. Defects or lapses in the documentation will only hinder your progress.
