Fortunatley, I knew how difficult the process has become. Everything was done within the time frame although some steps I took were repeated three times. The biggest issue was the last day when closing was done via the mail. There was no warning that our signatures required a notary or in some cases witnesses. Secondly, the paperwork arrived late with a requiremnet that it be returned that day. Again no warning of this requirment. Everyone was professional but more information of your expectatons would have been helpful.

We had a number of difficult situations that occurred the last year causing hurdles that even good credit had a hard time overcoming, or so we thought. Through the sincere caring and incredible diligence of Lena Reid, Senior Loan Officer, and Jackie Caporale, loan processor, we closed on our home this morning. I have been a real estate Broker since 1976, my husband a Broker since 1972. We have never needed anything but our good name to get a loan until we went for a mortgage after the recent crash of the housing market. Everything changed. We were afraid we would simply be a number, a faceless statistic trying to get a mortgage. This didn't happen. Lena and Jackie went above and beyond in making this process as seamless as possible, turning a stressful situation into one that resulted in two very grateful customers in their new home and eager to refer FBC to our many customers. Thanks, Lena...thanks, Jackie. We appreciate everything you did to make this a very happy day for Richard and me. We will recommend FBC to everyone we know.
Linda and Richard's Tip: Take the list of conditions that are given to you, and the list will most likely be lengthy, and group them in manageable sections. The list can be daunting, but break it into manageable bundles. Assign each task to those involved. Some tasks can be handled by your loan officer. They're on your team. They're willing to help when they can. Don't feel lime you're being persecuted. Many conditions seem unreasonable, but many of these conditions are required by the government, not necessarily the lender. Remember that the eight most dreaded words are, "I'm from the government. I'm here to help." Let your loan processor help you through the process! Remember, they don't get paid unless the loan is successful. They want this to succeed! Good luck, stick with it.
