Nervous first-time buyer
As a first time home buyer, I waa terribly intimidated by the loan review process. I conveyed my insecurities to Dave Harvey up front and he completely put my nerves at ease. He is very knowledgeable in what he does but he also took time to explain everything thoroughly and in an easy to understand way....and with a great deal of patience!! I can not communicate how great Dave and Hilary were to work with, I will definitely be using them for my next purchase and referring everyone I know to them.

Home Loans Today is a great mortgage company. Their staff is knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. By far one of the best in the business. Absolutely a joy to do business with a company that has real people who talk to the customer and the agent. The Mortgage Lender David answered all of my questions and kept me "in the loop” every step of the way. It was truly a hassle free closing and we closed on time. I will be referring more business in the future. It was such a refreshing experience to find a Lender that actually enjoyed doing a good job.

I would never recommend Home Loans Today
I was quoted a rate of 3.25% for a 10/1 ARM and I told Mr. Harvey to lock it. He contacted a short time later and informed me he had been given the wrong info and my rate would actually be 3.375%. I did not get final loan approval until 4PM the day before the closing. I was still being asked for documents as late as the day before the closing date. There was also confusion about the closing date. No one read the addendum to the contract changing the closing date so there was sheer panic one day trying to get the loan approved when it was not necessary as the closing date was approx. 1 week later. One of the excuses I heard was that the there was no underwriter for jumbo loans on site. I don't think it's fair to blame David or Susan directly for the issues I had but I will make sure to steer my friend and colleagues in Orlando well away from Home Loans Today.

Makes the process easy!
This lender gets it done, the right way, the first time. Mr. Harvey will give you a list of required documents they need to process your loan. Send him what he needs, log on to their system to e-sign required documents, and you're done. Have questions? When I call Mr. Harvey he picks up the phone and gets you squared away; no leaving messages and getting return calls 2 days later. Customer service is top notch!
Karen's Tip: Be organized. Have your financial documents in order so that you can submit them as they are required so as not to delay your loan process. Mr. Harvey is very responsive and will keep things moving if you do your part.

Unbeatable Customer Service
As with a couple of other reviewers, I was skeptical of refinancing my home online and held my breath through each and every process. In addition to the process being so easy it blew my mind, my monthly payment was lowered by $150 per month and also had 10 years cut off the life of my mortgage! I am amazed at the ease in which this refi was handled, it could not have been easier. Dave and Susan were very responsive and professional and answered every question I had almost immediately. My first inquiry was April 30 and we closed on June 10. I would not hesitate to recommend the team at Home Loans Today!

I believe loan officer was truthful and somewhat helpful, and I am sure I received a fair rate and low closing costs. Loan processor (Cecil) was friendly and communication was generally good. Only 2 issues...1) multiple times I was asked to send in documents that I had already sent (this is not atypical of other refis I have done). 2) ignored my request to have closing costs rolled into the loan. While this was not a big deal, and obviously it is cheaper over time to pay closing costs out of pocket, it was not my instruction. Overall, I would recommend Home Loans Today/David to friends and family

Dave and Cecil were very helpful and seemed to communicate to each other well. The direct number for faxes to go to Dave's computer was great, instead of having to use a general number and hope they got to the right person, or confused with other folks documents. The experience was painless and pleasant!
Sabrina's Tip: If you want a paper copy, ask for one in the beginning. I am still waiting on mine.
