Same Loan Scam
I initially didn't want to write this review as I felt like I was just in the wrong place in the wrong time. After seeing other reviews and seeing they were being scammed with the same technique I felt I had to say something. When we first looked at a house and long before it was built they "estimated" very competitive rate. Then low and behold 1 month before closing "poof" there is fraudulent activity on our credit despite no one else reporting it or marking it. Suddenly our rate increased by ~$600 with a significant portion in PMI and the mortgage itself. They couldn't respond to our emails promptly and explain why this had happened. Suddenly we were being slow rolled into closing with a "too bad you're getting stuck with this rate". Unfortunately we had to walk away and failed to close on our home. But wait there's more, like any good used car salesman as we are walking away from the deal "we can lower the price by $400"....then why were you trying to ***** me over in the first place and offer me such an inflated rate? I was very disappointed to find out that this has apparently happened to other individuals working with this company. Please do yourself a favor and find another lender.

Due to the nature of your loan and the construction progress, we are required run credit reports throughout the builder progress. When we began your loan process, we ran your credit, and again, months later when construction was completed. The change in scores affected your interest rates and PMI. Since those rates are not locked, the rate can and will change over a period of time. We found a solution to improve your credit but you opted not to pay down your increased debt.. Overall, a good experience
The only thing that was a little annoying was the constant back and forth with person who was in intermediary for the underwriter. It would have helped to have everything requested all at once and not piece meal it.every time I have to request another item from my accountant it costs me more money. Other than that everyone very thorough and quick. Chris Hartman was on point, very knowledgable, great communication, a real pleasure to work with

I can't thank Chris Hartman, along with Matt Andre and the rest of his team at FBC Mortgage enough. As someone who has less than stellar credit I was told by more than 1 lender that I wasn't in a position to qualify for a mortgage at the time we found a home we liked. That is until the builder of our home got us in contact with Chris Hartman. After running my credit and looking at my financials he clearly and concisely told me what EXACTLY I needed to do in order to get my credit to where it needed to be in order to qualify for my mortgage and have a successful closing. He was also very thorough when explaining the steps I needed to take along the way whenever I found myself confused as to what the next steps were going to be. He was also very easy to get in touch with, be it either email, phone or text which was a huge PLUS for me since my work schedule was less than ideal. In the end, Chris, along with his team at FBC Mortgage were able to do what everybody else in the mortgage business told me was impossible in my situation and got me approved for a brand new home with great terms as well in the timeframe that worked for me. I can't stress enough to anybody out there who has been told they're not a candidate for a mortgage to give Chris Hartman a call and at least see what options he gives you. Myself and my family couldn't be happier with the professionalism the team at FBC Mortgage provided us and will ABSOLUTELY turn to them again without hesitation for all of our future mortgage needs.
Christopher's Tip: Be as thorough and quick as possible if/when your mortgage lender asks for any information or documents pertaining to your mortgage application as this is done for your benefit and will help the process of getting approved for a home loan move much faster and hopefully less stressful.

Great experience for a first time homebuyer
I initially reached out to FBC to inquire about a Pre-Approval Letter. Chris spent close to an hour on the phone with me answering all of my questions and explaining the process. From that first phone call to applying for the loan and preparing for the closing date, the entire team was available, helpful and answered any question I had. I appreciated the introductory email that outlined the process and noted the names of the different team members who would be reaching out to me. As a first-time homebuyer, I couldn't have had an easier or more stress-free experience.
Jamie's Tip: Know that you will be in contact with multiple team members throughout the process but all are helpful and able to answer questions.

The team at fbc was phenomenal. They took me, a hard working first time home buyer with not so great credit and got me approved for my first home. I couldn't be happier with chris hartman. Outstanding Service
We worked with Chris and his team in a competitive process between 2 lenders. Originally I had planned to close with the other party due to the rate offered. Unfortunately they could not deliver in time for our closing. We called Chris back up to see if he was interested in completing the deal. Chris and his team jumped in to action and delivered the completed deal to closing within 10 business days. They take extraordinary efforts to pull off the process with amazing results. Le and I appreciate their professionalism, sense of urgency and willingness to go above and beyond. We are now FBC fans!

Overall Matt Andre and his team were good to work with. I did not like that 3 or 4 people would send you emails about your loan but if you replied to anyone other then your loan officer they had a problem with that. Also, towards the end when we had questions about the HUD statement my loan officer did not reply to my emails.
