Thank you Sonya

We have had over 10 mortgages and I would have to say Sonya was one of the best loan officers we have had. She was always willing to answer our questions in a timely and accurate manner. What we came to appreciate is her very positive attitude and concern for her clients. Thank you for all your hard work.

Loan Officer Review Sonya Olson

I am a 1099 person applying for a mortgage and underwriter requested many documents. Sonya was a wonderful help in the communications between the back office and myself keeping the paper flow moving along. If there was something I did not understand Sonya stepped in to simplify the requests.

Five star service

Sonya Olsen was the loan officer that I dealt with when purchasing my new home at Latitude Margaritaville Daytona. Having purchased homes previously, I was well aware of what my responsibilities were going to be. This was the first time I went through the loan process by myself as my husband passed the prior year. When I did not understand what was needed from me, I drove to Daytona with my laptop. Sonya never once failed to have time for me. She was committed to seeing me close on time. I did what I was supposed to do by not adding anything to my credit cards, supplying my 2017 tax return by the requested deadline, and any and all paperwork they needed. Sonya did what she was supposed to do: she secured my loan and I closed on time. She is an asset to FBC.

Ruth's Tip: Do what you are supposed to do when trying to secure a loan. If your loan officer asks for paperwork, get it to her as quickly as possible.

Closing on our home in Jupiter

My husband and I bought a townhouse in Jupiter 6 years ago. Sonya was our Loan Officer and she made the process so simple. We recently sold that townhouse and purchased a single family house, and we called Sonya immediately. Once again, she made the process so simple. We actually sold the townhouse and closed on the new home simultaneously. It was perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend Sonya to any family members or friends that are looking to purchase a new home.

Smooth Transaction

As a first time buyer in Florida, we really wanted to use a mortgage lender with a lot of experience. Sonya came recommended to me by a local real estate agent who insisted I work with her to purchase a home as she had many years of experience and would be a great resource. From start to finish, the transaction went very smooth and the communication was always great. If I had any questions or concerns, Sonya made herself available to answer as soon as she could. She was very responsive throughout the process and informative on next steps and guidance when we were in need. We are happy with our new home and pleased with the service that we received from Sonya and FBC.

Our Closing Experience

My husband and I recently closed on our home at Latitude Margaritaville in Daytona Beach, FL. Over the past 38 years, we have bought and sold 11 homes in four states, so we have become quite familiar with the application, processing and closing practices of numerous lenders and title companies over the years. Our recent experience with FBC has been a pleasure, and we are very happy that we selected FBC Mortgage as our lender. Their service is outstanding in every way, and their staff members are true professionals. Will highly recommend at every opportunity.

Richard's Tip: Have all supporting documentation in order and submit in a timely manner.

Latitude Margaritaville Closing - 381 Coral Reef Way

My closing went terribly wrong from beginning to end. There were many people involved which I believe resulted in so many communication errors. Dania Stewart asked for all of my information - more than once. Then Sonya asked for it again. I was scheduled for closing on June 8 but my loan had to be reworked on May 31 because the deal on my existing home fell through. I had everything movers, utilities, etc. scheduled for June 8 so I needed to closed on that day. When I arrived on June 5 for my walk through I met with Sonya and she said we were good to go for the 8th. I specifically told her I was going shopping that evening for furniture, appliances, etc. and of course I used my credit card so I could get the miles. I went back home on Wednesday morning (Ft. Lauderdale, 250 miles away) and received a call on THursday morning saying I had to pay off my Amex card or I couldn't close. So I paid it off. Sonya said that would be enough. Later that day, Sonya emailed me saying "I give up - I can't close your loan tomorrow". At this point the truck was packed. I made a call to Mark Minadeo who wasn't available but I spoke with Marcus who said he was the Branch Manager and Mark's boss. I explained my situation and he said they would work on it. On Friday morning I began the drive to Daytona for my closing at 1. On the way, there was a terrible accident on 95 and we sat dead stopped for an hour. At 1 p.m. I was stuck in traffic with still no clear to close. I figured being late wouldn't be a problem since I wasn't cleared to close at 1 p.m. Or so I thought. Then I got a call from Dawn at Clear Title asking where I was. I arrived at the sales center a 3 p.m. Sonya informed me a "mobile closer" was on the way and she had to leave to go to another closing. So I sat there alone (my niece was with me) with no one from FBC and no one from Minto. Dallas Nannarello from Minto was at the sales center and did his best to help out but this wasn't in his jurisdiction and he was very busy as the only manager on site. When the mobile closer came we had to print the documents which were emailed to me and the closer. About 4:30 I began signing. I noticed that the figures on the loan were not what was agreed to but I signed anyway and called Mark on Monday to discuss. He told me my loan numbers were changed and it was his understanding that I was brining a personal check for the difference in the amount due. I was shocked! I explained to him that I would have gladly done so, had someone told me. The communication on this process was just terrible and it turned what should have been a very happy day to one of complete frustration. To top it off, I was pressured by the title company to wire the difference so I borrowed my neighbor's internet to do so. Latitude Margaritaville has a facebook page and I see many posts from people with bad experiences with FBC. The $1,000 incentive they offered just wasn't worth it. It was constant badgering for more information and as someone with almost $1M in the bank and an 825 credit rating, it should have been much easier.
