Didn’t keep up
They didn’t keep up with the builders updates. Our house was completed 4 weeks sooner than expected and even though I kept in contact with them regarding the progress, the CO had already been issued before they started process of final approval and even then I had to push. Our house sat for an additional and unnecessary 2 1/2 weeks between that and underwriting requesting additional information. Pre-approval and conditional approval were completed 8-10 weeks prior and down to the wire I was scrambling to procure additional information for them that could and should have been requested during the conditional approval process. We were still able to close 12 days earlier than the original projected closing date, it was the most exhausting and unnecessarily stressful experience I’ve ever had getting a mortgage.

Regretful Decision
I’m very satisfied with my interactions and assistance from Rolando. I feel he was detailed and prompt to help when needed. My good experience ended there, I don’t know what happened, but it feels like someone just decided not to work on our loan anymore, we were constantly told the wrong information at the worst times, having to resubmit things that we had already submitted, it was a horrible experience. We were originally going to go with Better Mortgage, they offered a better rate with less points and were ready to fund within 2-3 weeks. Coastal Loans almost missed our closing deadline, charged more points, and I had to negotiate for a matched rate with Better.
