Review
Leslie was helpful throughout the process and was available after normal hours to answer questions. However the process was tedious - communication seemed lacking however I went through multiple processors and no one seemed to pass along information that was already collected and available in their system. I wasn't given an exact total for closing until the night before and even then I had to be provided a check from the title agent at closing because the final amount was too high. For a first time homebuyer the system is confusing so when asked for the same info and receiving multiple different closing cost amounts made it even more confusing - Leslie however did try to take the time and make sure I understood everything and tried to help get everything under control when my closing was pushed up by 6 weeks.

Leslie has been my mortgage broker for almost 22 years the same time I have been a Real Estate Broker. She has done numerous loans for my clients and this was my 3rd personal loan with her. She has always done an amazing job, she knows the process and knows how to avoid the delays. This loan was especially challenging with many peculiarities. She knew exactly the best way to structure and present for underwriting approval. If you want a true professional who makes you a priority, makes deadlines and (returns your calls and emails promptly) a pet peeve of mine....Then Leslie and the entire staff at FBC Mortgage are the people to call.

They kept in touch well via email, phone, and text with prompt responses to my questions and concerns as a new home buyer. The loan closed on time. The process was pretty painless with an online system to electronically sign most documents or upload documents that could not be e-signed.

I have worked with Leslie in the past. Her service every time i have worked with her is excellent. We had some substantial obstacles to overcome on this loan - mostly due to regulations and the fact that I am a small business owner. I cannot hold either one of those against her or her team.
Michael's Tip: In my opinion most average folks do not understand the regulations and how drastically they change each time they purchase a home - perhaps lay man terms breaking down things would be beneficial?

Be Prepared
Our experience with FBC was a tedious one. We liked our originator, but once our loan went to the underwriters, there was a lot of redundant information requested and poor communication among themselves resulting in an overcomplication of the process. Finally, they failed to transfer their portion of the closing funds on time resulting in a 3 hour delay of our closing and receiving keys
