Unnecessary delay?
We could've gotten some needed docs faster if we had online accounts w/ SSA, IRS and the credit agencies. If we had known on day one to create those accounts, we would've had the docs well in advance of the closing, but we ended up needing to get some of the docs by mail last minute which delayed the closing.

I have had mortgages in the past, two of them with a bank that I had banked with for 20 years. Getting a mortgage through FBC was by far the smoothest process to go through. Laura Baker was excellent to work with, accommodating my schedule and juggling coronavirus at the same time. Julie Mycroft was also excellent to work. I highly recommend this company for anyone looking for a mortgage.

This program is intended to be a MINIMUM documentation, streamlined refinance. Unfortunately the existing underwriting and approval process proved to be unweildy and took excessive amounts of time to "validate" what should have been intuitively obvious to the most casual observer.

The process seems to take forever but it was actually only about 6 weeks from offer acceptance to the closing date. Laura Baker, mortgage loan originator, was very knowledgeable, helpful and supportive throughout. Julie Mycroft, senior loan processor, was also very helpful and knew what she was doing every step of the way. I highly recommend FBC and this team to anyone needing to finance a property.

For example, in the middle of our transaction we left on vacation to an area with little cellular or data service.
