Amazing loan officer
Kiel made my experience of finding and closing on my first home very easy and stress free. He was very articulate in explaining everything and he also worked late night hours and was available whenever I would call. Highly recommend going with Kiel. Very professional and we were able to close on the house in less than 30 days.

The Ball was Dropped
I was advised by the loan office that items to be paid off by the Title company would be mailed out on the 25th of September. I have placed calls to the Title company and emailed and called the loan office. To this date October 1st the items to be paid off has not happened, and I am getting emails from the Title company asking me for the account numbers to be paid off. I was told by Dawn Blankenship of the Title company that the checks were sent out last week but they were returned. How can they have sent out the checks with no account numbers!!! Spoke to the loan officer today October 1st and he said there computer system crashed!!! Seems to me that I am getting the run around. This week I have been getting calls from the creditors want to know what happened to my payments. As I told the loan officer and the Title company, I am and have been out of the country since the 23rd and have limited internet access. TOTAL FAILURE!!!!!!!

Paperwork nightmare, literally
Loan officer did great , underwriting stage was invasive, redundant, eg typo on credit report required me to creat a signed affidavit stating that my house is not an apartment. I own some rural vacant properties, I was required to create an additional affidavit stating that my vacant rural land did not have hoa , bizarre and a frustrating waste of time . Refinancing a loan also with Fbc that was way above market rate due to non overdue consumer dept being held against us . We paid off all consumer debt to zero balance. We really wanted the place so we gave in . 10 months later we originated this loan to get market rate . Only financing 60% of homes value . Still needed to produce all property tax documentation from other properties again . Needed to produce homeowners insurance documentation again even though my homeowners is paid from an escrow account held by this bank ! If you like the idea of an insulting amount of underwriting BS this is the bank for you . At one point on my original loan I was even asked for my password for the automated HR site my job has to “hack “ my account for underwriting documentation. Yes, seriously.
Steven's Tip: Get ready to get every little bit of your personal financial information gone over by underwriting. Often in very unsecured formats .Literally everything.

I felt like I was put through the mill
The loan officer was very nice, but FBC kept wanting more and more documents. Toward the end it felt like harassment. I was drained and was about to quit. Either approve the loan, or don't. There are other houses on the market.
Ruth's Tip: Be like quicken loans, on their site you just click the name of you bank, click pay stub.com, etc., and all of your documents are uploaded. Be straightforward.

What a pleasure
Kiel Ecimovic was a true blessing from the beginning of the process to the end. There wasn't a moment where I had to wait for an email or return call from him. Very reassuring, very helpful and knowledgeable. I was stressed out through the process and yet he always found a way to relax and give encouraging words of advice. Would take the time to explain every little detail and when I didn't understand something which was often, he found a way to talk to me without having me looking into a dictionary to find out what he was saying. I cannot express enough how much of a true blessing he was to me in this whole process. He will definitely be my first and only recommendation for anyone I know buying a house now and in the future. Everything Kiel handled, from start to finish, was an amazing process. He was very thorough and provided us with enough information so that we could make an informed decision. The only problems we had along the way was with the underwriter and her not understanding or not reviewing the documents thoroughly before asking us for the same set of documents she already had.

I must say I had the best home buying experience for my first home. My loan officer Kiel is amazing.
