I found Kathy to be a very personable and professional loan officer. This was our first time purchasing a home and being new to the situation, she really took a lot of time to explain the process step by step. Whenever we didn't understand something, she was really patient in helping us get to a better understanding. When the initial application was submitted, I was thinking that it would take a couple of days to a couple of weeks to get an approval. I had an approval the same day! I work odd hours so I wasn't the fastest at getting all required documents in right away. Kathy was very patient. I appreciate her tenacity in helping us getting this pushed through. She is A-1 and also has a great sense of humor!
Sean's Tip: Make sure you get all required documents submitted on time. There are many steps to getting to the final approval so the sooner you get everything in, the better!

Kathy made our first home buying experience a great one. She walked us through each step of the process by explaining what we needed to do and the reason behind it. Getting a home loan can be tedious, but teaching us about it along the way really helped. Any time we needed a quick answer to a question, she would respond with a call, text or email. She was genuinely interested in making our first home mortgage experience as good as possible. Kathy is a true professional in her field.

From the beginning of the home buying process, from getting a pre-approval to closing on the loan, Kathy was very helpful! She kept her word in making sure I received the best interest rate available and that I understood every step of the process. She is very knowledgable in what she does and is definitely customer service oriented. She was able to answer any questions I had during the process and ensured we closed on the house on time. I would highly recommend Kathy Clay for your mortgage needs!

Owen's Tip: Be prepared for a great deal of paper work. A large percent of it duplicates.

Disappointed
Kathy Clay came very highly recommended. However, getting the correct paper work in hand to be signed was extremely difficult. Thanks to my Realtor the papers were done on time. Our closing date was 06/27/16 and I took this day off work, I was told due to the busy season closing had to be pushed out a week, because I see patients I was not able to fill my schedule. I took another day off work and found out afterwards the papers had not even been turned into USDA until the 27th and had to miss another day. I'm sure the papers were just lost or Kathy had forgotten. I am very glad the seller did not back out of the deal and that we had family who we could stay with for 10 days while waiting to close. The result was 3 days taken off work, moving 3 times and a lot of unnecessary stress.

From the time of initial contact (especially when Kathy told me I was pre-approved!) I felt comfortable and knew I was in good hands. She explained in detail every part of the process and I knew all I had to do was pick up the phone and call and she would be quick to respond with the information. I quickly found the home I was looking for and the whole process went rather quickly and smoothly and I am so thankful for her compassion and readiness to meet my need and be there with me to the end. She is a great person and I HIGHLY recommend anyone looking to buy a new home contact her. She is very easy to talk to and I am so blessed that I was given her name to contact when I started the process! I am extremely pleased with the outcome.

Kathy makes it easy
Kathy is very helpful and incredibly nice. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is due to poor communication with a processor (not Kathy) in the later parts of the loan process. It really wasn't a big deal, but was frustrating enough for me to call Kathy to get it straightened out. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kathy to anybody.
William's Tip: Ask questions. Kathy knows her stuff and will be happy to help you understand.

My Review
I would have backed out of using FBC if I could have but I had to much time invested and the seller would have had the right to back out of the deal, that is the only reason I didn't withdrawal from using FBC as the loan was still in the approval process.. This was not a good experience for me, and I regret using FBC. I expressed this to my Loan officer so that this review would not be a surprise.
