Less Professional Than Expected
We felt that there was a considerable lack of communication between FBC and us. We were good clients that provided all the paperwork in a timely manner and we felt blindsided when we were provided with a HUD at the time of closing instead of the day before. We were not notified that we needed to bring money to closing until we were at the title company. We were never properly explained to whom we could ask the appropriate questions. One of the forms we were asked to sign off on had incorrect social security numbers. Also, we wish we didn't have to send such personal information over email. We were hoping there would be some sort of secure server where we could upload such important documents. It's a very "hurry up and wait" system. We felt like just another number to FBC.

I have never felt so comfortable discussing my loan and building process with John. He was there for me at ALL hours, and I do mean that. I would text him at 5 am and would receive a response. John and his team are dedicated to making sure you UNDERSTAND the process and they NEVER once made me feel incompetent for not understanding something; even if it was the 5th time they had to explain it to me. I built a home so the process was a little longer than a simple purchase, but they made sure to not only stay in contact but give me a breakdown on what to expect so nothing would catch me off guard. This included what I would expect from my agent, the builder and the closing process. This team is by far the best in Volusia County and if you are looking for GREAT RATES, someone who is willing to fight for you, and take the burden off of you, because we all know this is not always a breeze, well you have found your man!
Theresa's Tip: Ask questions, don't be afraid. John will sit with you as long as it takes, and if you have a busy schedule and he needs to talk to both yourself and your husband separately, trust me he will. He is so well versed in all of the new laws and what the rates are doing, that he can educate you as well.
