Decent Transaction
All in all it was a decent transaction. We were able to close on time. However, our concern is that our phone calls/emails weren't returned in a timely manner. For a huge purchase such as this, we really needed answers right away and didnt want to wait a week to get a call back.
Scott's Tip: Make sure you talk to everyone on the team. Get other peoples phone numbers because that was truly a life saver.

Geraldine's Tip: be sure to ask the right questions. Do your homework and know what is being presented to you. If you are not clear on the process, do not hesitate to ask for clarifications. This is a lifelong investment (at least for 30 years). Make sure you read your contract with your sales representative and manage your deadlines for any changes.

First Time Home Buyer
My husband and I are first time home buyers, our real estate agent did 90% of the work on letting us know what we needed to do, what deadlines we had, when we needed to reach out to our loan officer. Donna did not provide much assistance without me reaching out to her 3 to 4 days in a row, leaving voicemails and sending her emails. It would be helpful if (especially for first time home buyers) the loan officer would communicate each step of the way and let you know what your next step is. My processor on the other hand, Simone, was amazing and very helpful and always quick to respond.

Complaint about the underwriter
The underwriter waited until the last minute to ask for information that could have been requested days before the closing which caused us undo pressure and frustration instead of joy and excitement of new home ownership. We think that is very inappropriate to pressure buyers in this manner at the last minute
Wilson's Tip: start reviewing the documents at least a week prior to closing, preferably 2 weeks so it would give the buyer ample time to get documents in a timely manner.

I was extreamly satisfied with the expeditiously handling of my mortgage loan. Personnel was knowledgeable, professional and gave prompt responds to any concerns and questions during the loan process. I was given a fair interest rate and all incentives promised at the time of appicaltion.
