New Home
I was disappointed with interest rates increasing over the waiting period for the house to be built; however, I was pleased to be given a one time opportunity to float down my rate after locking during a higher-interest rate period. I wish I had known some information earlier on regarding my lending situation, but I hold myself responsible for this more-so than my lender. Generally the process and communication went well. Closing went well on the side of lender, as well.
C's Tip: Do your research and do not rely on one source for information. People make mistakes, so it is better to get information from more that one source to better verify information.

Different than a bank
This is the third house we buy and the first time we went with the builder's mortgage lender. We always went with our bank directly to buy our houses. It was a little different. We locked the rate with the option to change it once if the market improved. When we called to check the rate several times, we were not helped the way we were expecting; with the interest for the day. After some aggravation, the market improved and were given a better rate. Glad it's over and happy with our new home.

Fantastic Experience
Using FBC Mortgage for the financing of my new home was definitely the right move. I started with another lender who was less than responsive to my calls and emails. Carl Hendrix is a straight-shooter who will guide you through the process. He keeps you informed throughout the process and closes the transaction. Lynne Hoffmann was the processor for my loan. She is professional and will definitely keep you in informed. She requests necessary information and processes in a timely manner. Overall, I had a great experience with FBC, right through the closing.
