Great Loan Officer, Difficult underwriting process
We were very lucky to have Allie Penny as our loan officer. She is understanding, through, hardworking,very pleasant. patient, just to name a few of her qualities. If not for her I doubt we would have been able to complete the process. We put down 65% have a great credit rating and have been self employed for 15 years. On the surface the underwriting should have easy but just the opposite was the case. While professional and pleasant, the underwriters were not clear, at least as I understood it, about the docs necessary to close, always asking for one more thing extending the process a week past the original closing date causing a great deal of cost and inconvenience. I would have much preferred one or even 2 clear lists of what was needed to close.I admit I am not familiar with the underwriting process. Maybe this the new way for self employed people looking for a mortgage and all underwriting teams behave this way although I doubt it. The summary is if you are self employed and are looking for a mortgage here, buckle up because it is going to be a rough ride.
