Longest closing ever
The process seems unorganized as I dealt with about 4 or 5 different people throughout process and then rather than asking for all the certain documents needed up front, I got multiple emails over a week time period of needing more and more statements. Then at closing after lender failed to check the gift letter and bank account numbers from wire transfer to ensure matched, we sat at closing for 2.5 hours while they tried to figure out why they didn’t have this confirmation and played a blame game between me and title and lender. We felt the lenders responsibility was to confirm these numbers matched before closing, and if they needed more proof they should’ve reached out for what needed to make sure smooth close. However Chris was very helpful throughout process with explaining all the numbers and fighting for us during a crazy rate changing time! He always returned calls/emails immediately.
Kyle's Tip: Confirm if using gift funds that they have matched account numbers from gift letter and the wire transfer.

It took awhile, but we got there!
We started off going for a refi as a VA mortgage, however, hit a snag that FBC hadn't anticipated. They redirected our application to a conventional refi, and held our rate through the process. All in all, very happy with a decreased term and great rate!
