Young Family Looking for 1st Home, Impressed
My husband and I began looking for our first home together roughly a year ago after saving every penny we could. As a young family, finding the ideal starter home to raise our children while being close to family was important to us. We found the perfect home in a great school system close to family. We were sold and we eager to get approval on a loan. We were working with a previous lender for about 4 weeks when at the last minute they denied us. I was devastated and heartbroken to say the least. I called my realtor in tears, panicking because we only had weeks left until the scheduled closing date and I knew the sellers had a backup offer. She recommended me to Michael Alea and his company, FBC Mortgage. I figured it was worth a shot and if I was denied again it was just not meant to be. From the minute I was in contact with Michael and his team, it seemed like every ounce of worry and fear left my body. He reassured me that everything was going to work out and that he could approve me. I was placed in good hands with his wonderful staff, Desiree and Angela, who helped guide me every step of the way. They were beyond courtesy and professional and their knowledge on the business was reassuring for someone who was new to this process. They were in constant contact with me and provided detailed updates from beginning to end. Knowing we only had weeks to get this loan prepared and closed, they worked diligently to make sure my family and I could be proud owners of our first home together. Felt Like Family
I'm 22 and this was my first time ever going through the process of buying a house. I was very fortunate to know an agent who was a family friend and wasn't just out to get a quick dollar. I went with Ed because that's who she worked with and recommended using. And I'm glad I did because I felt they had my interests at heart and they made sure I wasn't getting sucked into some trap of a house.

Mike and his team did a great job! We all worked well together, were patient with each other, and got the task at hand done on time and with no pain. Everything we had heard and read about the mortgage process in the United States led us to beleive that getting a mortgage in 2013 would be the most unpleasant, painful and dicsouraging process. However, Mike prepared us by explaining the entire process as well as what documents we would have to provide. All I had to do was collect the documents, scan and forward. At the end of the day, the entire process went quickly and was problem-free. Mike, constantly provided updates which helped to put our minds at ease. Mike always returned calls immediately if I was unable to reach him, regardless of the time of day or night. John's Tip: Know that getting a mortgage will require effort by the applicant. Do your homework and start scanning all potential documents. Go on line and find out what is required from the borrower. Know that there are so many regulations now and learn to deal with it. Dont fight the process, embrass it. Remember that the lender is giving you a lot of money and that nothing in this world is free (neither financially nor effort required).
